Yellow Thunder Formation Aerobatic Team
Experience the power and precision of the North American Harvard. Yellow Thunder is a 2-plane, altitude-unrestricted formation aerobatic demonstration team performing formation aerobatics across North America.
More Than Just an Airshow Act
Yellow Thunder is a high-energy, two-plane formation aerobatic team dedicated to preserving the legacy of the “Pilot Maker” aircraft. Operated by brothers David and Drew Watson, our performances are a blend of heavy-metal horsepower and family tradition.
Whether we are performing a high-energy day routine or lighting up the sky with our specialized night show, we focus on precision and professionalism without losing the fun. We are currently in the hangar prep phase, performing custom light updates and airframe maintenance to ensure our 1950s legends are ready for the 2026 season.
The Peformance
We are always fine tuning our show to make sure the audience is entertained yet safe. Our shows contain elements from the following list of maneuvers:
- rolls
- loops
- barrel rolls
- cuban-eights
- hammerheads
- lots of smoke
- formation loops
- formation rolls
- a tail chase
- formation banana passes
- croud-pleasing roar of two Harvards
Yellow Thunder strives to make our shows flexible and responsive to the needs of our air show clients. We offer:
- Daytime shows (weekends, weeknights)
- Night shows
- Low shows (for those with weather constraints)
- Solo shows
- Mock air races
